Early Childhood & Elementary

Ministry: KIDS Ministry Music

<strong>WORSHIP LEADER</strong>

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Oversee music team and rehearsing. Sing and dance while on mic. Enthusiastically welcome kids as they come in for music time and direct them in between songs. Use scripture and truths from the Bible to keep them focused. Communicate with the tech team regarding specific needs. Learn new songs and hand motions as needed.

<strong>Responsibilities: </strong>Singing in a microphone while dancing. Back up singer to the worship leader. Attend rehearsal times.

<strong>HAND MOTION LEADERS</strong>

<strong>Responsibilities:</strong> Draw kids into music time by doing hand motions. Attend rehearsal times.

<strong>AUDIO/VISUAL/SOUND TECHNICIAN/SETUP</strong>

<strong>Responsibilities: </strong>Turn on projectors and TV monitors. Pull up all tech systems on the computer. Adjust sound levels as needed. Use ProPresenter to play audio tracks and run slides. Turn on appropriate lighting. Fix any mistakes found on slides or in music. Communicate with the Worship Leader about any needs.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: No experience required. Training is provided.

<strong>PUPPETEERS</strong>

<strong>Responsibilities: </strong>Use puppets to sing songs and tell Bible stories. Use various voices and create fun characters.

<strong>Qualifications: </strong>No experience required.

"Welcome Team" Member

Ministry: Compass Connect (Welcoming)

If you consider Compass your church home, then you can understand the importance of welcoming visitors into that home. Our Connect Welcome Team does just that.

We welcome visitors to the church and assist them with finding classrooms, etc. We also provide them with important information about the church and its various programs. Once that connection is made, we follow up with visitors to see if we can further help them with their transition into their new church home. In addition to working with visitors, we are a conduit for existing members to help them with current events at the church and ministry opportunities that are available.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: This position meets 30 minutes prior to any given service and works approx. 15 minutes into the worship time. We gather again after the service is over and stay approx. 15-20 minutes to work at the Connect Welcome Table. We follow up via email or a phone call with visitors we meet. This is done during the week at each individual’s convenience.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: A heart that is ready to serve the Lord with your best.

Compass Women's Prayer Team

Ministry: Women's Ministry

<p class="p1">Join our Compass Women’s Prayer Team. We meet one Saturday a month and pray together for the spiritual success of our women’s ministry.</p>

Audio Position

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

Advance the audio cues in main service. Learn to make minor volume adjustments to worship, message and recorded videos to balance the sound during the service.

Web Streaming Position

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

No experience necessary. All training will be provided. Start and stop the streaming device or software for the service. Title the stream. Verify the sound level and quality. Opportunity to chat with viewers if questions are asked.

Audio & Video Recording Position

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

No experience necessary. All training will be provided. Insert DVD’s and CD’s into recorders. Press the record buttons before or during service. Finalize DVD and CD’s and write the titles, date and sermon on them.

Lighting Operator Position

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

Advance the lighting cues during the services. Assist graphics presentation designer with setting background colors. Press the play button or click on the play button in the software.

Camera Operator Position

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

Learn how to point, frame, color and iris adjust the robotic cameras. Save camera shots to recall buttons. Saving camera shots allow for simple recall during services.

Graphics Presenter Position

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

Advance the slides during worship. A simple click of the mouse or press of the right arrow is how it is done. Learn how to advance the slides in time with the music. Show up early for rehearsal.

Stage Setup or Teardown

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

Help facilitate the setup for worship. Connect cables, microphones and Direct boxes. Install batteries. Place microphone stands, music stands and drum pieces on stage. Remove batteries and help clear stage if necessary. Times vary for different ministries and rehearsal time. Rehearsals are important to attend.

KIDS Bible Club

Ministry: Compass KIDS

<h4>KBC Weekday Preschool Teacher</h4>
Teach age appropriate Bible lesson using curriculum provided. Responsibilities: Prepare for and teach weekly Bible lesson, assist students as needed, tidy up rooms after programs, attend training meetings. Qualifications: Desire to see young children know, love and follow Jesus Christ through solid biblical teaching of God’s word and modeling Christian behavior.
<h4>KBC Classroom Helper</h4>
Assist teacher in classroom as needed. Responsibilities: Take care of kids needs, help teacher with lesson, crafts, snack, clean up. Qualifications: Must love working with kids, be able to follow direction and take initiative.
<h4>KBC Recreation Leader</h4>
Lead recreation time with young children. Responsibilities: Prepare and lead age appropriate activities. Requirements: Available one to four times per month. Able to teach young children. Qualifications: Able to interface and encourage young children to participate in games and activities. Resource materials available.
<h4>KBC Puppeteer</h4>
Tell Bible point/story using puppets. Responsibilities: Prepare and teach young children with the use of puppets. Requirements: Available one to four times per month. Able to teach young children. Qualifications: Able to use puppets and build positive rapport with young children. No experience necessary. Training available.
<h4>KBC Teacher for Infant, Toddler, Two and Three year olds</h4>
Teach age appropriate Bible Lesson using curriculum provided. Responsibilities: Prepare for and teach lesson for one class of age specific students, assist with student’s needs, tidy up rooms after service, attend training meetings. Qualifications: Past experience working with kids, must have a love for Christ and working to grow his kingdom.
<h4>KBC Helper for Infant, Toddler, Two or Three year olds</h4>
Assist teacher in classroom Responsibilities: Take care of kids needs, help teacher with lesson, crafts, snack, clean up. Qualifications: Must love working with kids.

Summer KIDS Camps

Ministry: Compass KIDS

<h4>Compass KIDS Summer Camp Coach</h4>
Prepare daily skill building sessions for three days of camp encouraging kids to build skills and learn new ones in the context of God’s word. Responsibilities: Prepare daily schedule of skills, lead warm up exercises and drills and foster positive team spirit and participation. Three day commitment per camp. Qualifications: Proficient in given sport, able to train and encourage elementary age students, prior coaching experiencing a plus, provide good, godly example.
<h4>SKC Camp Counselor</h4>
Work with a small group of students to build rapport, team work and skills. Responsibilities: Follow directive of coach, encourage students, assist with supplies, set up/tear down, participates in all activities, help camp coordinator with any tasks needed to make the day run smoothly. Qualifications: Athletic ability a plus, team player, encouraging, positive, enthusiastic and energetic.

KIDS Min General

<h4>GEN Administrative Assistance</h4>
Assist in office type work. Clerical: filing, sorting, organizing, printing Responsibilities: Assist Compass KIDS Admin. Assistant in office related tasks either week days, monthly, and/or for special events. Qualifications: Basic computer knowledge, organizational skills and efficient

Take still photos or video of Compass KIDS activities at weekend, weekday, monthly or special events. Qualifications: Working camera knowledge, use personal equipment or KIDS Ministry equipment.
<h4>GEN Birthday Card Sender</h4>
Sends out birthday cards to students throughout the year. Responsibilities: To purchase & assure all cards are sent out in a timely manner before student’s birthday. Monthly time commitment. Qualifications: Be thoughtful and able to articulate words in a loving & encouraging manner.
<h4>GEN Purchaser</h4>
Shop for supplies in Compass KIDS as needed. Responsibilities: Secure necessary supplies at various times of the year for KIDS Ministry. Qualifications: Responsible and reliable.
<h4>IN Office Volunteer</h4>
Thursdays morning or afternoon.
<h4>ELEMENTARY Classroom Organization</h4>
Mondays or Fridays Organize and keep rooms stocked. Responsibilities: Keep class cabinets neat and tidy. Requirements: Once a week commitment. Qualifications: Highly organized, structured personality with eye for detail.

Elementary (1st - 6th graders)

Ministry: Compass KIDS

<h4>ELEM Teacher</h4>
Teach one elementary grade level from provided curriculum. Responsibilities: Cause learning of God’s word through worship, prayer, instruction and small group interaction. Requirements: Every week classroom commitment necessary at one service plus outside prep time of lesson. Must be team player and follow direction of ministry leader. Must be part of CBC body. Qualifications: Must have the ability to communicate biblical truths in a way geared towards elementary aged students that engages them and gets them excited to learn God’s word.
<h4>ELEM Co-Teacher</h4>
Assist the teacher in the classroom in all areas. Responsibilities: Be prepared with provided curriculum to assist the teacher in the lesson, Requirements: Every week classroom commitment necessary at one service plus outside prep time of lesson. Must be team player and follow direction of ministry leader. Must be part of CBC body. Qualifications: Some experience, some Bible knowledge necessary.
<h4>ELEM Special Needs Buddy</h4>
Shadow one special needs student in regular class at one service to assure successful learning in class. Responsibilities: Meet student before class to assure seamless transition into class and assist student as needed throughout structured lesson time (eg Bible story, craft, learning activity, music). Requirements: A willingness to work one-on-one with the same student each time he or she comes to church at a predetermined service time. Qualifications: Basic training and some prior experience with special needs disabilities. Medical training a plus but not necessary.
<h4>ELEM Hallway Greeter</h4>
Assist parents and kids to classrooms, give directions, hand out information flyers as needed. Responsibilities: Every other week commitment Qualifications: Warm, friendly, inviting, helpful.
<h4>ELEM Audio/Visual technician</h4>
Operate sound board and lap top for kids music set. Responsibilities: Run audio/video components and mixing board during Kids music time. Available one-three services; one-three times a month. Qualifications: Basic Computer, Power Point and audio hook-up skills needed. Some experience desired, however will train non-experienced volunteer.
<h4>ELEM Music Team</h4>
Be part of a team leading elementary age students in music. Responsibilities: Attend practices set up by worship leader and lead songs at kids services. Qualifications: Some music background in singing or playing an instrument.
<h4>Electronic Check-In Volunteer</h4>
Assist families with Electronic Check-In process at a manned station. Responsibilities: Greet parents and students as they approach check-in stations, help new families create check-in accounts, log out of machines and close check-in stations. Qualifications: Friendly and helpful, proficient with computer.

Early Childhood (Infants - Kindergarten)

Ministry: Compass KIDS

<h4>EC Infant/Toddler Teacher</h4>
Responsibilities: Nurture infants/toddlers (birth-23 months old) during regular weekend service time. Infant service includes bottle feeding, changing diapers, holding, rocking, reading Bible stories, communicating God’s love and singing Bible songs to babies. Toddler service includes telling simple Bible stories, singing Bible songs, snack time, and playing games. Requirements: Every week commitment in one class at one service. Qualifications: No experience needed. Genuine love for babies and toddlers a must and a strong desire to teach God’s word.
<h4>EC Preschool Teacher</h4>
Teach biblical truths to preschool age children from provided curriculum following structured class schedule. Responsibilities: Teach students God’s word using active learning methods, manage classroom activities, interface with parents and follow procedures of Compass KIDS. Requirements: Weekly commitment in one class at one service. Arrive prior to students. Come fully prepared to teach. Qualifications: Desire to see young children know, love and follow Jesus Christ through teaching the Bible and modeling Christian behavior. No formal training or experience necessary.
<h4>EC Class Helper/Youth Assistant</h4>
Assist classroom teachers as directed. Responsibilities: Help teacher during class time with students, lesson, music time, crafts and clean up. Requirements: Must be reliable and follow staffing schedule. Youth assistants must attend regular class every other week, in addition to serving. Qualifications: No experience needed.
<h4>EC Hallway Greeter</h4>

Operate audio/video components and mixing board Downstairs Chapel. Responsibilities: Arrive early, at least one hour, to set up components and run sound check for Downstairs Chapel. Operate sound and AV equipment during Chapel time. Requirements: One weekend a month. Qualifications: Some experience desired, however will train non-experienced volunteer with heart for kids music and teaching. Basic Computer, Power Point and audio hook-up skills helpful.
<h4>EC Special Events Team</h4>
Variety of positions exist including experienced seamstress and costume designer, basic sewing, decorators, painters/ artists, craft preparations/organizer, construction/craftsmen / builders / wood workers. Responsibilities: Help Compass KIDS staff construct, organize and make special event props, and decorate areas of special event. Requirements: Varied per event. Events include Easter, Camp Compass (Summer), Summer Camps, Fall Fest, and Christmas. Qualifications: Varied per event.
<h4>EC Special Needs Buddy</h4>

The Edge

Ministry: KIDS Ministry Music

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Vocal and instrumental experience. Experience reading chord charts. Auditions necessary. A passion for drawing students into worshiping God through music.

<strong>BAND MEMBERS</strong> (Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums/cajon, bass) –

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Attend rehearsal times. Play instrument during music time. Be an example to the students of one who follows Christ.

<strong>Opportunities</strong>: Weekend services, summer and winter Edge camp

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Experience reading and following chord charts. Auditions necessary.

General Needs

Ministry: KIDS Ministry Music

<b>STAGE DESIGNER</b>

<b>Responsibilities: </b>Create a stage design that will create a fun and worshipful environment for the kids.

Communicate with the Kids Ministry Music Leader about set-up and materials.

<b>Opportunities: </b>Stage design for weekend services (Compass Kids Room, Compass Room, The Edge Room), AWANA, Fall Fest and Camp Compass

<b>Qualifications: </b>A good design eye and ability to communicate and execute design.

Technical Team

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

Set up and tear down audio; set up video and prepare song lyrics in ProPresenter. Should have basic audio skills; knowledge of ProPresenter; will train if needed.

Care and Prayer Team

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

This team provides coordination of prayer lists, meals, service opportunities and calls to Thrive families.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Attend a couple of Care and Prayer team planning/information nights during the year. Occasionally volunteer to deliver flowers, cards or meals to families.
If you are interested in being a prayer liaison for your small group, you need to get prayer requests to your Care leaders in a timely and organized fashion each week. Regularly check e-mail and/or Facebook for Care updates and information.

Small Group Leaders

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

As a leader, you will lead small group discussion each Thursday night. In addition, you will be responsible for promoting unity, accountability, attendance and fellowship within your small group. You can inquire for further details from Thrive leadership.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Must be approved by Thrive leadership

Worship Team

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

Two or three times each semester, you will perform at Thrive in worship time for a half an hour or so.

Activities Team

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

Help coordinate, plan and set up whole group events, service opportunities and holiday parties for the CBC Thrive ministry.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: You should be creative! You will brainstorm various activity ideas at several activities committee planning meetings over the course of the year. Bi-monthly whole group activities, holiday parties, service events, and any other ideas will be planned by the committee leaders and supported by the committee/team. You will be part of an activities team, so you need to work well with others and take on various tasks. You will need to attend most bimonthly activities, Thrive Thursday meetings, and a couple of service events and holiday parties. You will need to be at activities early to decorate and get the event ready.

Greeter / Welcome Team

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

Welcome old and new members to Thursday nights and various events. Pass out calendars, outlines and information.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: You must be friendly, outgoing and proactive in greeting faces as they walk in the door, as we get many new couples each week, and you make the first impression.

Mentor Couple

Ministry: Thrive (Marriage)

Couples who have been married 20+ years and would like to mentor, disciple and encourage Thrive attendees in assigned small group.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: You need to be a Christian couple with a biblically based marriage. You will need to attend weekly Thrive meetings, do Thrive small groups questions, support a small group leader with discussion and discipling of assigned small group, and occasionally come to Thrive activity nights.

Jail Ministry

Ministry: Jail Ministry

Partners Prayer Team

Ministry: Partners Ministry

People who are willing to pray for a group of Partners pairs each week.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Pray at least once each week for an assigned set of Partners pairs and for the needs of the Partners ministry. An update and new list of pairs will be emailed at the beginning of each month.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: A willing heart and faithfulness to pray consistently every week for the assigned Partners.

Partners Leaders

Ministry: Partners Ministry

Partners leaders who are available to meet and disciple people through the Partners program.
<strong>Requirements</strong>: After being assigned a person, meetings are one-on-one with assigned partner for about an hour and a half each week for about 14 weeks or until he or she has completed the program.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Must have graduated from the Partners program and be recommended by his/her Partners leader. Must live a biblically consistent personal life, be able to articulate the gospel clearly and accurately, be faithful in sharing the gospel on a personal level, have working scripture memorization skills, and be reliable in maintaining contact with assigned partner.

Partners Table Helpers

Ministry: Partners Ministry

Serve at the Partners table greeting and answering questions from people interested in Partners.
Requirements: Helpers will set up the table before the service starts, be at the table when the service is over and remain at the table until the crowd disperses. Time at the table is about 30 minutes.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: A graduate of the Partners program.

Host

Ministry: Home Fellowship Groups

The host provides a home environment where the small group can gather each week to discuss questions from the weekend sermon. The host does not need to be a leader, but a leader may also be a host.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: The host needs to provide a welcoming environment for the group. Home Fellowship Groups meet one night a week for an hour and a half to two hours. During the summer, most groups meet once or twice for fellowship and some continue meeting weekly.

Prayer Coordinator

Ministry: Home Fellowship Groups

Helps facilitate prayer time during the meeting each week and sends weekly prayer requests to the group via email.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Needs to be committed to the small group. Needs to have a heart for prayer.

Leader

Ministry: Home Fellowship Groups

The Home Fellowship Groups leader assists his small group in growing in their walk with God and in fellowship with one another as he leads his group through the application questions from the weekend sermon. He needs to have a love for God’s people and a desire to shepherd them in applying God’s word to real life situations. He needs to pray for and keep in regular contact with those in his group.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: The leader needs to have completed the “Partners” program or be in the process of going through it. Home Fellowship Groups meet one night a week for an hour and a half to two hours. During the summer, most groups meet once or twice for a time of fellowship and some continue to meet weekly.

Navigating Motherhood

Ministry: Navigating Motherhood

Christmas Coffee

Ministry: Women's Ministry

Our annual Christmas Coffee features breakfast, music, great conversation, time with friends, and practical biblical teaching by Stephanie Schwartz. The Christmas Coffee is an event that brings many women to CBC who are not yet saved or plugged in with a church. Our hope is that women will return with their families to CBC during the Christmas season. The coffee then becomes a gateway to Compass and all that we offer.

Our Compass Women’s Bible Study provides accurate and relevant biblical teaching along with thought provoking weekly lessons and small discussion groups for application. Women’s Bible Study offers an avenue for relationship with fellow Compass Women while growing in the truths of God’s word. Studies held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am and Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm. Kid’s Club is available during all three sessions.

Men's Bible Study

Set up and tear down audio; set up video. Must arrive 30 minutes before study to set up sound and prepare song lyrics in ProPresenter. Should have basic audio skills; knowledge of ProPresenter; will train if needed.
<h4>Resource Table</h4>
Set up resource table with copies of lessons, worksheets, church events for men, volunteer and conference opportunity information. Must arrive 30 minutes before study to make appropriate copies and gather needed ancillary material.
<h4>Small Group Leader</h4>
Facilitate small group discussion. Encourage and disciple men in your group. Must attend small groups regularly and monthly leader trainings. Should be actively involved in Men’s Ministry as a whole including events.

Emergency Medical Serving

Ministry: Emergency Medical Ministry

The purpose of the Emergency Medical Ministry (EMM) at Compass Bible Church is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ by using our gifts, (Romans 12:3-8) to provide first-aid at various CBC functions.  During every service, EMM representatives are seated in designated locations and work directly with the usher and gatekeeper ministries.  Other service opportunities may include retreats, winter and summer camps, AWANA’s, Fall Fest, and anything else deemed necessary by our pastoral staff.

We are looking for people who have a passion for helping people and have medical experience either as a doctor, nurse, EMT, paramedic or firefighter.  Must be able to commit to serving at least one service a month <u>or</u> regular serving as an EMM representative in a ministry like AWANA or Revival.  Must be able to perform patient assessments, provide necessary first-aid/CPR and determine if 911 services are needed.  No application is necessary, but a copy of your medical qualifications/license at time of training will be needed on file.

Gatekeeping

Ministry: Gatekeepers (Security)

The purpose of the Gatekeepers Ministry at Compass Bible Church is to serve the LORD Jesus Christ by overseeing the safety of CBC. We do this by providing for the physical safety of the staff, congregation and facilities of CBC as well as the preservation and continuity of church functions.

We are looking for faithful and reliable Christian men to serve on a regular schedule at CBC as well as serve at other CBC events such as Fall Fest, etc. Having a law enforcement, fire/EMT, military or security background is helpful but not required. Highly committed and reliable participation is a must. Those interested in volunteering for this ministry will need to fill out a simple application.

Ushers

Yellow Vest Parking Assistants

Ministry: Parking Ministry

Servants in this ministry assist in the smooth flow of traffic and parking. Prior to each service volunteers direct traffic to ensure convenient parking for handicap and all other vehicles. Parking Ministry Servants are usually the first Compass Bible Church representative a new person will encounter so we also give information and serve as greeters in the parking lots.
Requirements: Servants in this ministry usually serve once a week or every other week. They arrive a half hour prior to the start of the service and usually direct traffic until about 15 minutes after the service starts. Average time commitment is once a week for about 45 minutes to an hour.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Able to stand and direct traffic for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions. Be courteous and welcoming in greeting people.

Food Prep

Ministry: Hospitality (Food Prep)

Serve Saturday night or Sunday morning cookies/donuts, coffee and water. There are various other church functions that may need assistance as it relates to offering food for the congregation. Once a month for approximately 1 hour to prepare the coffee and set up condiments and related items for after church service or the clean up afterwards which requires cleaning of the coffee thermos and clearing the tables.

Fix-it Help

Ministry: Fix-It Ministry

The Fix-It-Ministry is an active facilities support ministry for Compass Bible Church. Men, women and youths up to high school age have banded together to meet on the fourth Saturday of each month to help the facilities staff maintain the Compass Bible Church facilities in a first class manner.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: If you are skilled in general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or another construction related trade or you can push a broom, paint a wall, clean a bathroom or decorate a room, then this ministry is for you. Most of the work is done on the fourth Saturday of each month but there are some opportunities to serve during the week. We begin each Fix-It day at 7:45AM with prayer and a light breakfast. If you like to work with your hands, this is the ministry for you!

Hospital and Home Visitation

Ministry: Care Ministry

The Visitation Team is committed to caring for the needs of our church body through their physical presence and prayers. Service requires visitation and prayer with individuals who are in the hospital due to surgery or illness, as well as those who are ill or disabled at home or in a nursing or other care facility. We also minister to widows/widowers in the same way. Team members provide encouragement and support to those in need and this often includes family members and those around them.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Team members must be able to travel to local hospitals and homes. Knowledge and good usage and application of the Scriptures are desired as team members pray for those they are ministering to.

Leader-In-Training (L.I.T.)

Ministry: AWANA

Junior High and High School age students assist as needed in program.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Assist with music, puppets, game time and handbook time. Regular weekly commitment.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Great attitude, reliable, ability to build a positive rapport with students.

Administrative

Ministry: AWANA

Assist Program Directors with administrative tasks including: ordering supplies, record keeping with some computer inputting, assist during club night weekly.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Assist in AWANA Ministry weekly during club night with some additional tasks during week.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Good organizational skills, positive attitude, some basic computer knowledge.

Audio/Visual Technician

Ministry: AWANA

Operate sound board and laptop for music set.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Operate audio/video components and mixing board during Kids music time and teaching time.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Basic Computer, Power Point and audio hook-up skills needed. Some experience desired, however will train non-experienced volunteer.

Special Needs Buddy

Ministry: AWANA

Shadow one special needs student to assure successful learning in program.
<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Meet student before program to assure seamless transition and assist student as needed throughout program (eg Bible story, music, game time, handbook time).

<strong>Requirements</strong>: A willingness to work one-on-one with the same student.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Basic training and some prior experience with special needs disabilities. Medical training a plus, but not necessary.

Game Leader

Ministry: AWANA

Assist directors in conducting and supervising game time on club night.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Help conduct and direct games with AWANA children. Maintain safe and disciplined environment.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Positive attitude, enthusiasm, a heart to serve, reliable.

Music Team

Ministry: AWANA

Be part of a team leading elementary age students in music.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Attend practices set up by worship leader and lead songs during music time.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Some music background in singing or playing an instrument.

Substitute Small Group Leader

Ministry: AWANA

Substitute Small Group Leader would be available to stand in for regular group leaders (listed above), in case of absences. Substitute would shadow group leader as part of training.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Availability 1-2 times per month, work well as a team, listen to students recite verses; assure understanding and application of learning. Attend periodic training sessions.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Reliable, positive and encouraging attitude, desire to serve children.

Small Group Leader

Ministry: AWANA

Shepherd small group of students through AWANA program, build rapport and encourage learning of Bible verses by listening to students recite verses assuring understanding and application of verses as well as note progress through AWANA book.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Weekly involvement with small group, work well as a team, listen to students recite verses, assure understanding and application of learning. Attend periodic training sessions.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Reliable, positive and encouraging attitude, desire to serve children.

ELEM Classroom Organization

Ministry: The Edge (5th & 6th Grade)

Organize and restock classroom supplies.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Maintain organization and stock supplies in classroom cabinets and communicate supplies needed to Elementary Coordinator.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Eye for detail, structured and have good organizational skills. Available every other week.

ELEM Curriculum Coordinator

Ministry: The Edge (5th & 6th Grade)

Prepare new curriculum for distribution to classrooms.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Prepare new curriculum box for each teacher, labeling, cutting & sorting by age group.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Basic knowledge of office equipment (eg cutter, copier). Available one day 4 times a year. Training available.

ELEM Small Group Leader

Ministry: The Edge (5th & 6th Grade)

Assist with 5th & 6th graders in a mid-week setting.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Be prepared with provided curriculum to assist the Teaching Leader in the lesson, participate in activities and build rapport with students.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Some experience, some Bible knowledge necessary.

ELEM Teaching Leader

Ministry: The Edge (5th & 6th Grade)

Teaching 5th& 6th graders through provided materials & curriculum in a weekend setting.

<strong>Responsibilities</strong>: Cause learning of God’s word through worship, prayer, instruction and small group interaction during a weekly meeting.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Must have ability to communicate biblical truths in a way geared towards elementary aged students that engages them and gets them excited to learn God’s word and be able to connect and relate with students. Good understanding of the Bible is necessary.

Revival Staff

Ministry: The Narrow (Jr. High)

We need crews to take the students wakeboarding/tubing on boats.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Must be willing to commit to the week of camp.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: We need people to bring their own boats to take the students wakeboarding/tubing.

Junior High School Leader

Ministry: The Narrow (Jr. High)

Mature Christian ready to disciple junior high school students.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Must be able to attend one of The Narrow weekend services (Sat 5pm or Sun 11am), Wednesday night small groups, monthly leader meetings, and set up one-on-one meetings with students.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: No experience necessary but must be ready to make a serious commitment.

True Coffee

Ministry: True North (High School)

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Must be able to regularly commit to serve coffee drinks at True Coffee Bar.  Available times include:

Tutoring

Ministry: True North (High School)

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Must be able to attend True North Tutoring sessions during the school year on Mondays from 4-8PM. Get to know the students and visitors who attend Tutoring. Looking for someone to run the check-in table and update attendance records on a weekly basis.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Not only looking for experienced tutors and credentialed teachers, but also a committed volunteer to run the check-in table every Monday.

High School Leader

Ministry: True North (High School)

Growing Christian ready to disciple teenagers.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Must be able to attend a weekend True North service at either Saturday @ 5PM or Sunday @ 11AM. Must be able to attend small groups on Wednesday night. Must be able to set up one-on-one meetings with students and contact them throughout the week.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: No experience necessary but must be ready to make a serious commitment.

College Leader

Ministry: 3rd Nine (College)

Growing Christian ready to disciple college-age students

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Must be able to attend 3rd9 on Sunday nights and Tuesday nights. Ministry includes salvation conversations, personal discipleship and counseling regarding college, career and marriage.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: No experience necessary, but must be ready to make a serious commitment.

Administrative Support

Ministry: Compass Books

<strong>Description</strong>: Learn the location of the various book categories and other inventory. Assist with receiving book and gift orders, restocking, merchandizing, inventory maintenance, cycle-counting, special projects, stockroom maintenance, data entry, and filing.

<strong>Qualifications</strong>: Committed to serve, task oriented, organized, detailed, and basic computer skills.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: Weekdays for 3 or more hours.

Customer Assistance

<strong>Description</strong>: Learn the location of the various book categories and other inventory items in order to assist customers. Build the worship arrangement slides from the worship music sheets. Pick back grounds and color them to match stage lighting. Prepare scripture reading slides to match recordings. Download videos and place in order of service.

Audio Mixing

Mix audio on any of the mixing boards on campus. Yamaha M7CL, Behringer X32. Mackie DL1608. E.Q., Compression and other techniques will be taught. All ministries are available. Rehearsal participation is required.

Lighting Designer

Ministry: Technical Arts/Media

Pick colors for worship songs. Make transitions to change lighting colors in a non-distracting view. Share ideas to light up items on stage. Opportunities to think of new ways to use lights.

Lighting Technician

Assist installing or rearranging lighting for different events. Includes running  DMX and power to fixtures. Patch fixtures into software. Add new fixtures to layout in software.

Producer

Set up and verify all stations are set up and ready for service. Set up any position that needs to be done for the service. Rehearsal attendance is recommended.

Director

Instrumentalists and Vocalists

Compass Bible Church is growing, so we are always looking for skilled musicians to add to our worship team. There are opportunities in the main service team as well as throughout the church.

Requirements: Worship team members must be committed to growing spiritually, serving the church, and excelling musically. Main service requires a full-weekend commitment approximately once-a-month with a midweek rehearsal.

Cards of Encouragement

Ministry: Care Ministry

Sending greeting cards is an integral part of the Care & Prayer Ministry. The purpose of the Cards of Encouragement Team is to reach out to individuals who are hurting and in need, expressing the love of God through words of encouragement and Scripture. Our desire is that God would use the cards and sentiments to bring comfort, courage, strength, and hope to those who are going through difficulties such as illness or personal loss.

<strong>Requirements</strong>: A strong ability/giftedness to write clearly as well as sufficient knowledge of the Scriptures and the ability to encourage with verses relevant to the individual’s need. Legible writing is necessary.

The prayer ministry plays a major role in helping Compass Bible Church fulfill its fifth distinctive to be a church that demonstrates a “reliance on prayer” (<a id="BibleRef-0" class="esvBibleRef" href="http://www.esvbible.org/Colossians+4.2-6" target="_blank">Colossians 4:2-6</a>). We see our ministry as a vital resource in this pursuit because we recognize that praying fervently for the needs of others is a command and a duty we have before God and puts us in harmony with his sovereign will for us. Our vision is to see more people at Compass desire to become a part of the prayer process by which God’s goodness, wisdom, power, and grace are displayed, and to experience the ultimate joy of giving him glory.

Requirements: Prayer requests for our church family are communicated via e-mail daily and weekly. Team members can be flexible in prayer time, praying for everyone daily or distributing the needs over the course of the week. The team meets periodically for fellowship and corporate prayer.
